Founded in 2015, Milestone is seeking a senior accountant to join the growing team!

In this role, you will utilize hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, the senior accountant will ensure that the daily operations of his/her department is running smoothly while providing advice and guidance to Management regarding the financial situation of the College.Responsibilities Be the first point of contact regarding all aspect of the accounting and financial situation of the CollegeSupervise and prepare accounting and financial documents such as forecast report of monthly target, business reports, tuition payments, financial statements to understand the financial state of the businessEffectively manage all daily operations of financial transactionsAnalyse and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closingsReconcile accounts payable and receivableEnsure timely and accurate payments of invoices for suppliers and consultantsManage balance sheets and profit/loss statementsReview accounting records and various reports to ensure accuracy of transactionsLead yearly financial audit process and documentations by collaborating with external auditorAccurately and timely complete all files related to tax returns – RL1, T4, T4A, T2202 etc.Report and advise management on the company’s financial health to maximize business opportunitiesResponsible for the implementation and migration of all financial data into accounting software COBASupervise employees under his responsibilities including training and on-boardingEnsure the company’s compliance with financial policies and regulationsComply and stay up to date with provincial and federal payroll regulationsAdvise and implement accounting policies and procedures to ameliorate operational effectivenessReinforce and ensure financial data confidentialityCollaborate with all other departmentsAny other tasks delegate by the supervisorQualifications Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or any other related programsObtained a certification or designation in the field for instance, CPAHave at least 10 years of experience in the field with 2 years of experience in managementFluent in both French and EnglishExperience in an educational environment is considered as an assetHighly detail-oriented and organizedProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employeesSuperior analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with accounting software and programsAdvantagesComplete group insurance available with the employer’s contributionSick days and personal days paid each calendar yearTwo weeks of winter vacationFree coffee and teaFree parking for all employeesThe office is easily accessible by public transportation (8min walk from the Panama Terminus in Brossard)Opportunity for growth within the organizationA multicultural and fast-growing environment
