Job DescriptionSquamish Nation is hiring a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager whose financial acumen and commitment to action will have a lasting generational impact.

About You You are a strong relationship builder with an analytical eye for identifying financial data trends.

You love using numbers to inform strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting decision making.

Ideally, you have experience working with First Nations communities, or you are passionate about advocating for marginalized communities.

Your exceptional communication skills and extensive background in financial analysis enables you to act as the bridge between Finance and Operations, helping all departments make impactful decisions based on data.

You are a big picture thinker, who prides yourself in your relentless commitment to delivering quality work to the community.

Your Role The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager is critical to enabling our leaders to make informed decisions that have an impact on the community for many years to come.

Your key responsibilities include: Partner with key stakeholders in the business to model key decisions and challenge the assumptions financial forecasts.

Working with key stakeholders to develop actionable management reporting to provide insights into performance, variances, drivers, and key underlying trends.

Provide a monthly forecast to the senior leadership team, including variance analysis, actuals, and commentary.

Provide analysis that improves the visibility of performance and underlying issues for department directors.

Spearheads the design, adoption, and enhancement of the planning & budgeting system, including improvements to data governance and automation.

Interview, hire, and train Senior Financial Analyst.

Provide on-going management, feedback, and training to ensure high engagement and retention levels.

Contribute to the development of the broader finance capability in collaboration with senior operational staff.

Your Background 5 years of progressive experience handling accounting, finance, business, ideally with experience working in service-oriented organizations.

2 years of financial planning and analysis management experience, interpreting data, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Accounting designation is an assetHighly independent and self-motivated with demonstrated ability to proactively execute and achieve results.

Demonstrate high emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity with a commitment to team-driven success and leading by example.

Demonstrated financial systems skills with the ability to maintain create financial planning and forecasting process.

Experience working with First Nations communities or non-profit organizations is an asset Experience working with JD Edwards is an asset Experience as an expert user of the Internet, Microsoft Office Applications — Outlook (email), Word, Excel.

Proficient in picking up new technologies.
