The Accounting Manager will join the Accounting and Finance department of one of the leading real estate developers of Montreal.

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role by overseeing the accounting and treasury functions of different real estate development projects and oversee a team of accountants involved with those real estate projects.

The candidate will report directly to the Corporate Controller.This is a new position that have been created to support Brivia’s rapid growth.

We are looking to fill one (1) Accounting Manager position.Responsibilities:Preparing financial statements including an update of the cash flow and the pro forma for each real estate project under his/her responsibility including ad hoc reporting to our partners.Monitoring the job costs within a project against the approved budget.Supervising and reviewing the accounting cycle of each projectReviewing sales tax remittance reports and reconciling backup for government inquiries.Coordinating and reviewing the sales team reports and commissionsRecording accounts payable and invoice payments, including preparing commissions payments from the sales team and external brokers in accordance with existing agreements and tracking those to be paid.Preparing the required documentation to be submitted to the financial institutions on a monthly basis for the financing of on-going development projects under his/her responsibilities.Preparing audit files and schedules to support the F/S for our auditors.Experience and Qualifications:Between five (5) and seven (7) years of experience as Accounting Manager including between two (2) and three (3) years of experience supervising a team.Previous experience in Real Estate Development.Accounting designation is not required.Knowledge of the software Maestro would be considered as a good asset.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Qualities and Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills in both, French and English.Verbal and written communication skills in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, or other) will be desirable though not essential.Be recognized by your leadership, work ethics and professionalism.Ability to supervise, train employees and work as a team.Strong work ethic, team player and professional.Excellent ability to prioritize and to meet deadlines.WHAT WE OFFER:Offices located in Downtown Montreal, close to all our projects, shops, train and metro stations.
