Summary of Position

Equipment Operators (EOs) are responsible for transporting heavy equipment from our shop location in Grande Prairie, AB to oilfield leases across Alberta and BC. An EOs main job responsibility is to rig-up equipment on time, check fluids, and visually inspect all equipment prior to start-up. Must continuously monitor high- and low-pressure blending equipment in challenging weather and challenging locations, with unwavering focus. EOs must be willing to learn to perform basic maintenance on trucks, pumping equipment, frac iron, and hoses while on location. Must be able to drive various pieces of heavy equipment, operate a forklift, and maintain all DOT and inspection paperwork.

EOs are assigned to a close-knit crew and must be willing to communicate effectively and take direction in urgent situations. Must be able to work safely in a team environment. Understands the need to communicate with the frac supervisor during regular operations and recognizes the need to escalate any urgent issues immediately, when required.

When finishing a job, EOs are required to rig-down and complete general housekeeping duties before leaving location. Equipment and trucks must be left in top condition for the next crew coming on shift.

Minimum Qualifications

* Unwavering commitment to safety

* Strong communication skills

* Accountability and a sense of ownership

* Team-player with a positive attitude

* Must have a non-GDL Class 5 Driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract

* Ability to pass drug and alcohol pre-employment testing; a criminal background check is also required

Preferred Qualifications (on the job training is available)

* Class 1 Driver’s license

* Forklift Certification

Working Conditions/Environment

* Regularly operates in a highly safety-conscious environment, outdoor and indoor

* Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise

* Must be able to manage heavy lifting and manual labour (lifting 50 lbs+)

* Work rotation is 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

* Works both night shifts and day shifts; 12 hours per day

* Camp or hotel accommodations while on hitch
