Our people and their families matter to us.The OpportunityAlstar Oilfield Contractors is seeking Apprentice and Journeyman Structural Welders to work in our SE Calgary facility (8700 Venture Ave SE; not transit accessible)until approximately mid-March, with the potential of being extended.

We are looking to fill day, night and weekend shifts.

Reporting to the department supervisor, the successful candidates will:Fabrication of various structural steel componentsEnsure production timelines are met and components are shipped on timeFabricate components to exact design specificationsRead, understand and follow all Safe Work Practices and Procedures for machinery and equipmentFollow existing work standards and look for further improvementsMust be able to work in a team environmentOther duties may applyRequirementsIn this role, the successful candidates will have:Certified Journeyman along with CWB tickets for MCAW and FCAW or unindentured apprenticeCWB Flux Core Flat position minimumCSTS-09/2020 or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) ticket is mandatoryAbility to read and interpret blueprints, cut lists, and weld symbolsThe ability to use tools & equipment safely and abide by the health and safety rulesExcellent communication skillsFitting experience would be an assetAbility to lift up to 60lbs, work at heights, be agile and able to go on/off equipment, up/down laddersWorking ConditionsYou will work in a large manufacturing facility with other trades presentPrimarily inside work, some outside work may be requiredPhysically demanding positionAvailable ShiftsDay: Monday-Thursday (6am-4:30pm)Night: Monday-Thursday (4:30pm-3am)Weekend: Friday-Sunday (5am-5.30pm, 12-hr shifts)BenefitsAlstar offers:A great work environmentCompetitive compensation, and benefits after 3 months of employmentOpportunities for acquiring new skills and professional advancementAn environment where your ideas on innovation and product or process improvements are valued and implementedRecognition for your achievements and contribution to our successOne of our industry’s most effective workplace safety programsA quality control program certified by the ABSA, ASME and CWBWe are a team of professionals that work together to achieve our goalsWe would like to thank all candidates for their interest; however, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
