Job Description: Sun Life seeks a talented individual to fill the role of Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architecture within Sun Life Enterprise Services.

As an individual contributor , the ideal candidate will be our most senior enterprise architect for AWS core cloud infrastructure capabilities, including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.

Reporting directly to the Sun Life AVP, Infrastructure Architecture and dedicated to the cloud program, the successful candidate will work with other Enterprise Architects and our cloud delivery practice.

This individual will help architect primarily AWS solutions with client-centric, omni channel processes delivered through a consistent “One Sun” philosophy, achieving the goal of making it easier for our clients to do business with us.

Find out for yourself why life really is brighter under the sun Main Accountabilities: Provide thought leadership and work closely with fellow team members, across business and technical dimensions, solving enterprise-wide complex business requirements and making informed decisions.

Demonstrate forward thinking around where the business is going and how technology can support these efforts.

Integrate new teams into our enterprise cloud frameworks with attention to sharing, providing a single-view, and driving re-use.

Providing leadership in establishing and promoting standards, patterns and practical best practices within the AWS and other cloud eco-system practices at Sun Life Establish appropriate guardrails for the cloud delivery teams and promote process designs and best practices that keep teams within those guardrails.

Evaluation of application and/or infrastructure design specifications to ensure alignment with Digital Enterprise Priorities, hosting (cloud and on-prem) architecture, standards, patterns and industry best practice.

Participate in the development of our cloud strategy and support key programs.

Build trust relationships with senior level technical and business teams and communicate at all levels of the organization’s enterprise.

Collaborate with the broader enterprise architecture team to create and maintain standards for the overall architectural vision that emphasizes a reuse strategy Develop deep knowledge of the capabilities of current cloud portfolio of solutions across geographies to ensure informed decisions of gaps and action plans Participate with other architects and technology teams in resolving escalations related to cloud usage that may arise Ensure usage of Agile methodologies and DevOps framework Qualifications: University/College degree or equivalent experience 3 years of intense AWS experience at a hands-on senior technical level as a principal/senior engineer or architect.

5 years of experience in technical Infrastructure Architecture including enterprise architecture patterns, strategy, roadmap creation, and governance.

10 years of solid experience working in Infrastructure Services, Security Practices, Networks, Distributed Infrastructure (Data Centre/Servers/Middleware/Containers/Storage etc) 8 years of leadership experience in Technology Experience with transformation strategy, approach, and planning.

– ability to express ideas, thoughts and information so that it can be understood by various audiences and meets the customers’ needs Multi-tasker full of great energy and attitude to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment Prior experience working in a matrixed or virtual environment Competencies: Strong and effective relationship builder with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries and collaborate effectively with senior executives.

Ability to recognize and understand cultural and organizational dynamics to accomplish objectives.

Proven leadership capability with excellence in coaching and partnering with people An enthusiastic team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, experience and ideas, and is open to ideas and input of others.

Ability to apply judgment and make decisions in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, leveraging well-developed analytical problem-solving skills.

Strong business acumen – client-focused with an in-depth understanding of business goals Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communication style to the audience and to actively participate and influence conversations with senior executives.

Results-oriented with a proven record of delivering to deadlines, able to multi-task and prioritize a wide range of tasks with an understanding of the big picture and interdependencies across processes and systems.
