This is a Full-time position in Richmond, QC posted October 5, 2019.

Employment Permanent of Openings 1 Classification Engineering IndustryEngineering Design Group Staffing is currently engaged in a permanent search for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our client, a leading Design & Manufacturer of Amusement Attractions company in Vancouver.

Accountabilities The Structural Engineer will be a key member of a structural design team that is involved in a variety projects around the world.

This role demands the candidate to have strong technical and creative design skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to Performing analysis and design of structures using the applicable building and design codes/standards (US and Canadian).

Providing design sketches and coordinate work with drafters and other engineering departments during the proposal and design development stage.

Liaising with external consultants and drafting contractors.

Preparing technical specifications.

Reviewing and check engineering designs and drawings.

Completing site inspection as required in international locations.

Supporting fabricators and assist site superintendents with technical solutions for site issues.

Reviewing shop drawings and develop design solutions and modifications when warranted by site conditions.

Requirements Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.

Professional Engineering designation in Canada (P.Eng.), or US (P.E.) eligible for registration with EGBC.

6 years of experience related to structural design engineering with a strong, proven background in steel and reinforced concrete design, exposure to multi-discipline engineering and project management.

Experience with architecturally intensive design projects.

Proficiency in structural design software including StaadPro, Sap2000, and drawing software including AutoCAD and Solidworks.

Comfortable working at heights.

Able to travel without restrictions required The individual chosen for this permanent role will be highly creative, hardworking, achievement focused, analytical and organized.

Strong attention to detail, planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
