An excellent senior opportunity for a dedicated professional The Office of the Comptroller General (OCG) is the lead governance organization for the financial management function in the BC government.

This governance function is provided through financial legislation, core policy and procedures, delegation of authority, compliance reviews and audits.

The Corporate Accounting Services (CAS) Branch supports the Comptroller General in meeting the broad statutory responsibilities by managing the design, development, delivery for the mission-critical corporate financial system for the Province of BC.

The Branch ensures the availability of the Corporate Financial System (CFS), a suite of financial applications and reporting resources to record financial transactions, be a source for corporate decision making and financial analysis and as the information sources for the Public Accounts.

This position is in the Ministry of Finance, Corporate Accounting Services Branch and reports to an excluded Director.

The Security Architect provides information security services for CAS and is responsible to design the architecture of the security infrastructure and related standards and policies.

The Security Architect provides authoritative advice regarding application and technology security and potential security risks.

The position directs the ministry(s) and client organizations in the development of security strategies that meet long and short-term service plans.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: Certification or higher in the computer science field or equivalent.

Professional designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional or Certified Information Security Manager, or equivalent.

Candidates without professional designation may be considered; however, as a condition of employment, you must complete either the Certified Information Systems Security Professional or Certified Information Security Manager within 6 months of employment.

Experience developing enterprise security architecture in a large, complex organization.

Experience delivering Security Threat Risk Assessments.

Experience responding to audits and Security Heath Check.

Experience with the reporting and management of security incidents.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to candidates with Privacy Impact Assessments experience.

Preference may be given to candidates who have worked with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or financial systems.
