The Opportunity This position works out of our Mississauga location in the Structural Heart Division.

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

What You’ll Do The Marketing Manager is responsible for the rollout and positioning of all Structural Heart products in the Canadian marketplace.

Provide marketing support for new products by soliciting information and feedback directly from our sales force and customers.

Identify and analyze trends in the market and respond to field needs through timely development of pertinent information and promotional materials The Marketing Manager – Abbott Structural Canada is also expected to: Understand the dynamics of the Canadian Structural Heart market relative to the healthcare and economic environment in Canada; Understand the Abbott’s capabilities and competitor activities in Canada to ensure that Abbott’s competitive advantages can be promoted; Deliver and develop strategic programs for Structural Heart products that will support the achievement of sales and profit in line with country targets that are in line with Product Division and International Division strategies; Develop and execute marketing programs for the effective promotion of the Structural Heart product lines.

This includes product launch plans, product specific sales incentive plans when required as well as market share growth programs; Work pro-actively with CALA (Canada & Latin-America) marketing and product teams to develop and execute Canadian marketing strategy and help meet Global objectives and goals; Collaborate with the Clinical department on product registries, new technology assessments and product clinical trials as well as to ensure customer initiated clinical studies and initiatives are processed through the correct channels; Provide market information, product forecasts, and business reports as required by the Canadian and International Division teams on a timely basis; Contribute to the development and maintenance of a high-performance sales and clinical team by assisting in the training, coaching and development of the Abbott Canada team; Active role with the sales team with Tender preparation and presentations; Works with marketing communications to support development of launch materials, product literature, and any other collateral material required to support sales and key marketing messages; Operate the CRM (Salesforce customer relationship management) system and ensure information is available with the company on a timely and accurate manner; Works cross-divisionally to develop a “One Abbott” approach to key customers; Acts as an internal advocate for the customer; cultivates Abbott internal relationships to drive business objectives; Develop marketing strategies toward driving market development and growth through referrals of innovative therapies; Analyze referral and market trends to create focused marketing initiatives to be executed by sales team.

Required Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.

A minimum of three to five years’ experience in the medical device industry, preferably within the Cardiology and/or Cardiac Surgery field; Solid background in marketing preferably in the medical device industry (within the Cardiology and/or Cardiac Surgery field); Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Bilingual French/English an asset Ability to take key actions and demonstrate behavioral anchors that support all Abbott Core Competencies; Ability to effectively function, and continually adapt, within a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment; Forward thinker with excellent prioritization and planning skills.

Self-starter and self-developer, idea-generator; Ability to execute on set plans and goals via critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
