Government Relations Consultantbased in Ottawa, ON, Canada.This position is a 6 month renewable contract.Senior Government Relations ConsultantResponsibilities:
·Help design and implement Government Affairs plans working in conjunction with internal teams and agencies
·Support and implement a wide range of strategic communications, grassroots and issue campaigns
·Oversee KPI results tracking; regular reporting;collaborative sharing of work from agency and internal teams with key internal stakeholders
·Produce and edit high-quality written deliverables, such as issue backgrounders, white papers, and strategic memos and/or content often under tight deadlines
·Plan and coordinate scheduling and logistics for events, conferences, and other activities
·Ability to identify potential issues and work to address them Requirements:
·Able to thrive in an active workplace with a sustained pace of urgency
·University Degree (Political Science, Media Relations, International Relations, Journalism)
·5+ years of experience in Government Affairs/Public Affairs
·Active, relevant, and strong established networks
·Previous experience working within a large corporation or Government/Public sector
·Strong ability to deliver persuasive, evidence-based counsel that wins over C-suite executives with limited time Keys to Success:
·Skilled project manager with the ability to solve problems in timely manner
·Flexible and able to work under pressure of tight deadlines;
·Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
·Collaborative style with experience working with cross-functional teams
·Creative, reliable, responsible and accurate approach with an attention to details
·Experience in a ICT-related industry, trade association;
·International business or policy experience
·The candidate must hold Canadian citizenship, and have the ability to travel both domestically and overseas
