Physicians currently have few tools to help them effectively select and manage mental health treatments based on the unique characteristics of their individual patients leading to an arduous and lengthy “trial and error” approach to treatment.

Aifred operationalizes best-evidence guidelines, together with AI-based insights, to support better treatment management, and matching of individual patients to the right treatment.

Aifred plans to encompass a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, leveraging their treatment-agnostic AI model.

Aifred is a proud official IBM Watson AI XPRIZE semi-finalist team.The Opportunity:The Vice President of Software Development & Delivery will be responsible for executing the Aifred product development vision through actionable long and short-term medical software development and medical product deployment plans.

The successful candidate will manage the Aifred software development, from requirements, architecture design, UX/UI, AI capabilities, product security to verification and validation, using 3rd party developer teams as required.

The VP of Software Development & Delivery will drive theAifred product deployment at customer sites through planning and overseeing electronic medical records (EMR) integrations on time and on budget, and through building effective strategic liaisons and enabling appropriate knowledge sharing across various stakeholders.The role is preferably based in Quebec, but a remote location within Canada may be considered.

Specific Accountabilities:Partner with the Product and Research teams and Chief Science Officer to ensure the Aifred product development and deployment roadmaps are comprehensive, with clearly defined, regular, and realistic milestones; and incorporate the latest fundamental and clinical research findings,payer/customer (e.G., insurer, clinic and hospital networks) requirements and user (i.E., patients and doctors) needsThrough the management of 3rd party teams, responsible for the appropriate implementation of all software development methodologies and processes, including ML/AI prediction models, to ensure quality, security and privacy requirements are met and maintained; plan releases, sprints and sprint retrospectives.Adheres to medical device product realization procedures, as per ISO 13485 and FDA medical device design control requirements, including planning and management of execution, design review, risk management, verification planning, executing and reporting, support for validation activities, and post-market surveillance including continuous maintenance and improvements.Manage the seamless deployment of the Aifred product at customer sites (hospitals, medical practitioners’ offices, clinics, etc.) across Canada and the U.S., ensuring all privacy and data security standards are followedResponsible for the initial implementation needs assessment and process analysis, detailed project planning, actual product deployment; interoperability implementations, tracking and communicating the project deployment status; providing transparency for any changes in deployment dates (and related risks, mitigation plans, etc.), product upgrades, and project post-mortem debriefs to improve future deployment deliverables Act as a liaison between the Aifred Product and Research teams, customers and users to gather and provide feedback to fine-tune the product roadmap and prioritize the future updates and releasesChampion the Aifred product to existing and potential customers and users to increase its adoption and visibilitySet, implement, and monitor all operational and key performance metrics for the software product development, including 3rd party vendors; maintain and optimize budgets to meet the roadmap and project deployment plan milestones.Stay current on industry trends, research and technologies to incorporate them in the development and deployment of the Aifred product.

Education, Work Experience & Competencies: EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in computer science, bio or medical sciences or related academic background, Masters degree preferred EXPERIENCEMinimum of 10 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in digital health in the US (required)Proven experience in running EHR/EMR integration implementation projects and overall deployment of digital tools for US customers, both hospital and insurer networks (required); experience with digitalhealth tool deployments in Canada a plusKnowledge of and familiarity working within an ISO 13485 medical device manufacturing framework; knowledge and familiarity with design control as per FDA 21 CFR Part 820, medical software lifecycle management as per IEC 62304, and medical software risk management as per ISO 14971Knowledge and familiarity with challenges of implementing HIPAA, related privacy requirements and latest cybersecurity standards into software products (required)Working knowledge of angular and javascriptVery strong working knowledge of microservice deployment and management on Azure including CI/CD pipelinesPrior leadership experience managing teams, including 3rd party developer teams (required)Startup experience (required) and AI experience an assetFamiliarity with software as a medical device (preferred) COMPETENCIESStrong project management skillsDetail oriented and rigorous in approach to tasks and problem solvingStrong relationship building, collaboration and interpersonal skillsSelf-starting, with ability to act as both a high-level strategic thinker and a hands-on execution driverResilient and flexible, thriving on change and desire to build, non-bureaucraticBilingual, French and English with excellent oral and written communication skills About Pender & Howe:Aifred has retained Pender & Howe to lead the recruitment initiative for the Vice President of Software Development & Delivery position.
