Position Description:
CAMH is seeking Registered Nurses in all our inpatient units to work a variety of shifts. These roles are available in our Acute Care Program, Forensic Program, Geriatrics, Psychosis Recover and Treatment units. CAMH is offering this opportunity for full-time or part-time positions to nurses looking to expand and/enhance their skills in psychiatric nursing. CAMH provides support and training in the area of mental health and addictions nursing, so all levels of experience are welcome. This is an exciting and unique professional opportunity to gain experience in psychiatric, mental health and addictions nursing.
CAMH is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital, setting the standards for care, research, education and leading social change. The model of care on the unit will emphasize treatment of concurrent disorders and patient engagement in therapeutic programming and you will have opportunities for capacity building and skill development.

Shifts will vary between nights and days and weekends. Positions are located at CAMH’s Queen Street West campus.
Qualifications:
The successful candidates must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. A current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate is also required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess or are currently pursuing a BScN. CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or gerontological nursing is considered an asset for RN applicants. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to develop the Nurse-Client relationship and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team. Effective leadership, decision-making, organizational and problem solving skills are required. You have demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behaviour. Nursing experience caring for individuals with mental illness and/or addiction issues is an asset. The ability to work with clients of diverse cultural and social backgrounds is necessary. Computer literacy is required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
Please Note: CAMH has permanent full-time and part-time positions. For part-time positions, additional hours may be available based on operational needs. Registered Nurse positions are part of the ONA Bargaining Unit.
Salary Range: $34.24-49.02 per hour
