The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. Position Description:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Centre for Complex Interventions, CAMH is seeking a Research Analyst to provide support to a variety of clinical research activities across the academic divisions of the institution. The ideal candidate will be capable of conducting daily tasks with minimal supervision. This position will assist projects within the digital mental health research team, specifically a project on exploring individuals’ experiences with compassion through using digital grief tools, with related duties including: conducting grey and academic literature reviews, conducting environmental scans, supporting research ethics board applications and amendments, supporting recruitment and scheduling participant visits, conducting interviews, consenting participants for research studies, maintaining participant records and regulatory documents, conducting qualitative data analysis, drafting progress reports, and preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers. The candidate may also be required to assist with other administrative duties as required. The individual will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies, as well as all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West, with the possibility for remote work.


The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in digital health, clinical informatics or a related field, combined with 1-year of relevant research experience. Previous experience conducting qualitative interviews is required, ideally in digital health or clinical informatics and prior experience analyzing qualitative data from interviews and/or focus groups is required. Proficiency in computer software skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), literature databases and related software (e.g. Covidence), and qualitative software analysis (NVivo), as well as the ability to learn new programs where necessary, is required. Previous experience undertaking rapid or scoping reviews is an asset. Ability to carry out environmental scans through communicating with a variety stakeholders and the ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and organizational skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds including team members (especially through digital tools such as e-mail, Webex and Webex Teams). The candidate will be detail-oriented, possess analytical thinking skills, and be able to exercise initiative and good judgment and will have the ability to multitask and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting program deadlines.

Please Note: This full-time, 12-month contract position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.

Salary Range: $25.03 – $33.38 per hour
