The RoleWe are currently searching for a Human Resources Specialist reporting to the Manager, Human Resources (who is based in Ontario).

This is a 12 month contract opportunity.Location: Port Coquitlam Distribution Centre in British Columbia.

This includes creating and posting job vacancies, pre-screening, interviewing, conducting references, selection, and offer presentation and negotiationSupport HR Administration requirements for Port Coquitlam and meet all required deadlinesSupport HR Engagement and Performance Management initiatives at the Port Coquitlam Distribution CentreSupport other human resources initiatives and projects as required, including exit interviews, company events, and employee engagement projectsSupporting part time union recruitment in logistics and job fairsSupport Recruitment Campaigns, typically for Summer Students, Warehouse Workers.

Must be able to lead these initiatives if requiredOrganize and participate in recruitment/talent acquisition and networking events, based on careers and employer brand marketing activities (i.E.

job fairs)Conduct behavioural and technical telephone and in-person interviews to assess candidate”s ability to succeed in open positions.Advise and guide hiring managers on organizational recruitment policies, best practices and participate in selection of final candidates.

Enforce the use of recruitment templates, evaluation grids and ensure the diversity and inclusion practices and company policies are adhered toTravel up to 20% within Western Provinces for in-person interviews and job fairsTrack all candidate activity within ATS, system administrative duties as requiredCreate offer letters from templates, able to select correct template and edit based on provincial legislationKeep detailed interview notes from phone interviews and in-person interviews, utilize candidate evaluation gridAbility to handle first level HR issues effectively and escalate to appropriate HR contact as requiredWho You Are Your Knowledge, Skills & ExperiencePost secondary education in Business, Human Resources or related programCHRP/CHRL/CPHR BC or working towards those designations is a strong assetMinimum 2 4 years of experience in Human Resources roles, ideally as a generalistExperience with cold calling and talent sourcing; experience with LinkedIn, Indeed and other sourcing databases and Boolean searchMust have experience in full cycle recruitment/talent acquisition ideally in both agency and corporate environments (this includes sourcing, screening, interviewing and offer presentation and negotiation)This role requires a valid G license and the ability to travelDemonstrated understanding and working knowledge of relevant Employee and Labour Legislation including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights CodeIntermediate skills in MS Office: Power Point, Word, Excel and OutlookExperience using an HRIS and Applicant Tracking System.
