Sr. / Intermediate Software Developer (Microsoft Stack)

* Hamilton, ON* Freedom to innovate and flexibility to work both front- and back-end* Collegial and relaxed work atmosphere* Full-time permanent role, with salary between $80,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience   * Opportunity to work remotely after training  PatientCare Solutions ( provides progressive web and support services through a healthcare professional based call centre using voice, email and mail.  And m-health Solutions ( , its sister company, offers leading edge technology for mobile patient care – using both mobile devices and healthcare software. By expanding the ways in which companies and patients interact, our technology has raised the bar on patient service and diagnosis.  Now, we’re looking for a new Senior or Intermediate Software Developer to help us continue raising the bar in the development of our healthcare applications. With a team of 4-5 developers, and additional resources for testing, you will lead development projects through their entire lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery and support, ensuring the highest quality code and reliability. You will: * Initially, assist in establishing the development team in co-operation with a fellow developer.  This would entail both staffing and defining the development process and procedures.* Work with the team in expanding and defining the architecture of a complicated patient tracking application* Guide the development approach to project delivery (projects include medical websites using the latest responsive design techniques, potentially medical mobile applications for Android and iOS, CRM applications supporting various drug programs, and more)* Provide input and feedback through the development process, in terms of missing functionality and invalid functionality* Support internal staff by researching and implementing technical solutions to resolve their unique challenges (i.e. process, software, or hardware)* Provide mentorship to junior staff This is a role in which you’ll have an opportunity to use the full extent of your skills, and the chance to jump between both front-end and back-end projects. One day, you’ll be working on a public website, and the next will be working on building a tool for our heart monitoring software. You’ll enjoy variety and flexibility in your day-to-day, as well as a large degree of latitude to guide our technology development using the best of your knowledge and experience. Working with Patient Care Solutions / m-Health Solutions With Patient Care Solutions / m-Health Solutions, you’ll join a cohesive team of technical innovators driven by a common goal – to build and use the latest cutting-edge technologies to better partner with patients on their healthcare journey. As part of our team you can expect the following: * A stable, full-time permanent role working in the Hamilton area, conveniently located near the QEW/403 (say goodbye to those long commutes to Toronto!)* A competitive salary between $80,000-$110,000/year, depending on experience* Generous health benefits and vacation* Opportunities for professional development During these challenging Covid-19 times, we understand accept the need to work remotely from the office.  There would be a short period of training in office, with appropriate safeguards, and then developers are allowed to work remotely.  The goal is that when we’re past  this, we can all safely resume working in the office, collaboratively as a team. If you are in search of an opportunity where you can make an immediate impact within the organization, and have the ability offer input that is heard and valued, then we want to meet you. Qualifications Here is what we need: * 8+ years experience working as a front-end and back-end software developer in a Microsoft environment, designing and building both static and dynamic websites / applications* Proficiency in responsive UI design using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript/Typescript, JQuery* ASP.NET Core or MVC with Entity Framework  * Experience with Azure Web Apps, Function Apps and SQL Database* Practical experience developing RESTful Web APIs* Experience with MS SQL Server database, including a good knowledge of SQL syntax and structure (functional areas including views, stored procedures, triggers and effective table design) And the following experience would be highly desirable: * Knowledge and/or experience working with any of the following: Adobe Creative Cloud, CRMs, Sass, Gulp, Angular, and/or Flutter* Post-secondary education in Computer/Software engineering and/or related discipline* Experience with Git, Jira and Azure DevOps* Understanding of SDLC in an Agile environment, including CI/CD How to Apply We are accepting applications only directly from candidates.
