As a QA Automation Developer, you will be testing complex, cutting-edge software that uses a wide variety of technologies, which offers you the opportunity to develop your technical and testing skills on the job.

You will collaborate with other testers, developers, product owners, and managers to deliver an excellent product that meets and exceeds customer expectations.

This position is full time including salary, benefits, bonus structure and more.

The role will be remote to start with the expectation to work onsite in the next few months.

Tasks and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain automated test casesCollaborate with manual testers and developers to identify test cases that are suitable for automation (cost/benefit analysis, complexity etc.)Manage timing and execution of automated regression runsAnalyze the results of automated regression runs and address test failures by: Correcting automated test deficiencies and Raising defectsAutomate tests to cover customer-found issuesTrack work in two week sprints following the Kanban modelParticipate in sprint planning and groomingWork with controlled, dedicated automation test environments, including troubleshootingIdentify defects and manage those defects through a bug tracking system (TFS)Partner with development teams to reproduce defect scenarios and identify root causesWork with other members of the test team to: Participate in regression testing Prioritize areas for soak testing Give feedback on feature testing shortfalls Provide peer review for other testersParticipate in feature development and planning meetings as a representative from the test teamAdvocate for qualityCreating and using internal tools and/or scripts to automate and optimize common tasksWriting automated tests for web, desktop, and/or mobile applicationsParticipating in feature development and planning meetings as a representative from the test teamSkills and Experience RequirementsUniversity or college diploma in a related disciplineEligible for Top Secret Government of Canada security clearance: No criminal activity No criminal record Ten years of verifiable residence and employment historyHolds experience with test automation beyond record and playbackExcellent English communications skillsWrites code and likes doing so or is willing to learnLooks for opportunities to improve test automation tooling and codeFamiliar with best practices for test automationIdeally, has experience with test automation using JavaScript, Selenium and .NET, TestComplete or similar COTS automation toolsWorking knowledge of JenkinsIdeally, has experience working with distributed systemsKnows the difference between a road block and a hurdleIs well-organized and looks for ways to provide valueIs passionate about software testing and quality
