Sign Manufacturing Engineer The opportunityIf you believe in helping clients build their brand recognition, want to work with them to create awesome signage, and really enjoy working with a team of professionals to get the job done, then we’re excited to hear from you! Hansen Signs is looking to add a Sign Manufacturing Engineer to our team, you will work directly with internal departments to ensure all signs are manufactured and built to exceed expectations and fall into the applicable scope and budget.The ideal candidate would have several years of Solidworks experience, have a mechanical engineering background and have worked in custom manufacturing. In addition, the candidate would have the drive to be innovative in finding new and better processes, have strong customer intuition, and excited to learn every day. This individual must be organized, detail oriented and enjoy working in a team environment.Most importantly, we’re looking for someone that loves to have fun and is always up for a challenge to be a great fit to join our team! As the Sign Manufacturing Engineer Tech. you will be responsible to:* Review conceptual drawings from our internal design team and determine the best methods of manufacturing.* Sketch out structural tube frame and sheet metal fabrication designs* Build 3D models in Solidworks software for production purposes.* Create shop drawings with dimensions and Bill of Materials (BOM) for distribution to shop floor fabrication.* Provide analysis of project and determine material needs to support estimating, PM & procurement staff when needed.* Calculate general guidelines around structural, electrical & installation methods for our departments and sub trades.* Attend internal workshops to collaborate on design of signage best practice, documenting results for future use.Qualifications* 2+ years experience using Solidworks.
