Summary of Responsibilities: Assist Fleet Manager in ordering parts to repair and maintain fleet Share knowledge with Fleet Maintenance Staff working towards a team that is self-reliant Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile and stationary equipment, including front end loaders, grinders, screeners, stackers excavators, trucks, blower trucks, walking floors, and other company owned equipment Focus will be on keeping fleet and yard equipment in excellent in working condition Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications Follow paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document repairs on work order using complaint, cause and correction Perform required inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity and life of the unit Assist with inventory control over shop equipment and supplies Advise the Fleet Manager of required major repairs or replacements to equipment Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations Fabricates repair parts by using shop equipment when needed Engage in service calls when needed Qualifications: HD Truck Technical Training Certificate or 2 + years related experience Skilled in diagnosis and repair of Electrical Systems on trucks and equipment Outstanding Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems Skilled in welding and cutting Knowledge of engines and controls Knowledge of transmissions and controls Knowledge of brakes and suspensions Qualities: Self-motivated, organized and detailed oriented Possess good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work around heavy equipment in a safe manner A results driven Problem and Solution Solver Able to receive instruction and carry out directives as per company policy Field experience with earth works, heavy construction, environmental industry etc.
