As with all members of The Great Canadian Landscape Company, you will strive to improve yourself, your teammates, and the company always.The following are the duties for the position: Assist the Maintenance Foreman in managing safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yard Mow lawns, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn care duties Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants Apply fertilizers to gardens Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, aerators and power rakes Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies and manual lifting Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop and equipment Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning daily Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment Comply with all company policies and regulations Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members follow government and company PPE standards Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous mannerEducation High School Diploma, GED or equivalentExperience2+ years experience in the Landscape Maintenance or Horticulture industrySkills Competent in the use of power tools (pruners, sod cutters, sprayer, rototillers, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, etc.) Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines Time management skills Physically fit with strong stamina Ability to follow safe working procedures Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail Good analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team You are detail oriented and like multi-tasking Advanced measurement and calculation skills Ability to follow safe working procedures Ability to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a teamWages and Benefits: $20-26 per hour Education reimbursement Ongoing training & developmentIf you want to grow and be apart of an award-winning company that believes in innovation and constant learning in the Landscape Horticulture industry, send your resume in today.You can also check out our video on working at The Great Canadian Landscaping Company on our website at www.Gclc.Ca.If your values, experience, and goals align with ours, please email us your cover letter and resume and ” Come Grow with Us!”
