ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE ADMINISTRATOR Mission Statement: Homes First Society develops and provides affordable, stable housing and support services to break the cycle of homelessness for people with the fewest housing options.

APPLICANTS MUST QUOTE “AR21” Job Description: As an Accounts Receivable Administrator, you would maintain cash receivables and revenue function by implementing and maintaining all receivables and revenue including contributions and rents, while adhering to the mission statement, polies, and procedures of Homes First Society.

Responsibilities involve: Preparing and monitoring billings, invoices, credit memos and aging report, and customer accounts.

Collecting and allocating rent payments, grant, donations and all other income.

Recording receivables received on bank deposit slips, delivery of deposits to bank and posting to account receivable.

Classifying, posting and recording accounts receivable; ensuring compliance with purpose and type of account.

Reconciling monthly bank statements and performing account reconciliations.

Monitoring account details for non-payments, delayed payments.

Investigating irregularities; issuing stop payments and adjustments.

Ensuring compliance with established procedures, internal accounting controls and policies.

Maintaining accounts receivables files and filing/archiving accounting documents.

Providing back up assistance to full cycle accounts payable practices and providing support to the Finance team during month-end and year-end.

Performing other ad-hoc duties and projects, as required.

Qualifications: University Degree/College Diploma in Accounting or related field.

Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a non-profit housing environment.

Experience in computerized accounting.

Knowledge of basic accounting concepts, principles and practices Ability to work with Windows based accounting packages Proficient in Windows based word processing and spreadsheets ( i.e Word, Excel) Knowledge of non-profit funding and contracting environment A keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time management skills Demonstrated ability to work independently Strong interpersonal and team work skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Knowledge of tenant population, diversity issues anti-discrimination practices and systemic reasons for homelessness Submit Your Resume to: kayla.piperhomesfirst.on.ca , when applying, please quote AR21.
