BURNCO is hiring an experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to join our amazing Edmonton Asphalt team. This is a full-time, seasonal position with an opportunity for year ’round employment. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate will ensure daily asphalt operations are executed efficiently, while overseeing the use of equipment to maintain safety practices and compliance. What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure the asphalt plant is being operated in a professional and competent manner
  • Unload asphalt cement from trucks to proper storage tanks and completing associated paperwork
  • Work with Quality Control to ensure materials are being produced to required specifications
  • Monitor and maintaining plant equipment
  • Assist with loading trucks, answering phones, and other plant duties as required
  • Follow and promote BURNCO’s safety program to ensure all policies are followed

What We Would Like From You

Education & Experience

  • Asphalt plant operation and maintenance experience of at least one (1) year
  • Ability to work shifts at both asphalt plants, as required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract


  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
