We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Commercial Project Lead in the Passenger Commercial Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Services (Design and Construction), the successful candidate will administer, coordinate, and support all aspects related to the ongoing development, planning and delivery of commercial programs at the airport.

Key responsibilities include: Create Passenger Commercial short
– and long-term capital development programs and assist with gathering infrastructure information for upcoming commercial concepts.

Define and develop scope, deliverables, work plan, budget and timing for new commercial initiatives in line with department outcomes and objectives Effectively use Excel to forecast budget for commercial infrastructure projects and review budget with manager regularly Create and update overall commercial program schedule Analyze discrepancies between projected schedule vs actual Assist and support tenant improvement projects Communicate with tenants on day-to-day construction tasks on the Construction Events calendar Prepare project business cases, as well as monitor and report on Commercial Services’ capital development programs Work closely with business partners to understand their vision and provide support in bringing it to life, including design, coordination related to base building services, maintenance, access, support through airport permitting process (FAP), construction support and close out Coordinate and facilitate the validation of all concepts, innovations, prototypes, template sets, guidelines impacting Base-Building scope, as well as Tenant Design Criteria Maintain internal and external client relations to ensure ongoing communication and positive working relationships Key qualifications include: At least 3 years of recent, related experience, supplemented by a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience Demonstrated project management experience, from conception to delivery Strong knowledge of: Contracts and commercial real estate law Building systems Industry standards in commercial real estate Airport environment including airport security protocols and procedures Ability to read design and construction drawings Proven ability to problem-solve and use sound judgment in decision making Good relationship building skills with the ability to negotiate Highly organized with good attention to detail Proficiency with project management software, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and MS Office This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates.
