– Fee For Service Site Visit & Reallocation Allowance Programs: Relocation Program; Site Visit Program Department of Health & Wellness Incentives: Debt Assistance; Family Medicine Bursary Program; Tuition Relief About the Opportunity Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) is seeking a full-time dermatologist to work as a generalist with children and adults.

At CBRH, the opportunity exists to have a rewarding practice with ongoing support from currently established dermatologists in the region.

The successful candidate may also participate in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.

CBRH opened its door to patients in 1995.

Now, it is the second largest acute care facility in Nova Scotia that serves more than 200,000 patients a year.

It is part of a four hospital complex that also includes Glace Bay, New Waterford Consolidated, and Northside General Hospitals.Located in the historic town of Sydney, CBRH has 162 acute care beds, 36 emergency beds, 23 intermediate and critical care beds, 40 maternal child beds, 52 mental health and addiction beds, and nine palliative care beds.

The hospital provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient, and community-based programs.

Services: anesthesiology cancer and supportive care cardiac respiratory dermatology diabetes education services diagnostic imaging dialysis emergency medicine general surgery geriatric assessment and rehabilitation intensive care unit internal medicine laboratory services maternal/child support services mental health and addiction services neonatal care nutrition and diabetic counseling obstetrics and gynecology occupational therapy ophthalmology otolaryngology palliative care physiotherapy plastic surgery social work spiritual and religious care volunteer services Responsibilities perform a full scope of practice as a dermatologist support and receive support from the infectious decease clinic, plastic surgery clinic, wound care clinic and rheumatology clinic at CBRH care for inpatient and outpatients at CBRH Expected Hours full-time: 37.5 hours per week hours at physician’s discretion Qualifications all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Community Details Failte (that’s “welcome”, for those not up to speed on their Gaelic) Sydney is the historic capital of Cape Breton and largest urban centre on the island.
