Each student is an individual with unique interests, goals and strengths who should be supported to move towards graduation along their chosen pathway.Supporting student achievement is the goal of all staff who, in addition to the contributions of caring volunteers and community partners, share their passion for teaching and learning.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform duties under the guidance of the Speech Language Pathologists within the required scope of practice as outlined in the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) including:Provision of speech and language intervention to students; carrying out speech, language and hearing screenings; train, model and support students, staff and parents with general oral language strategies, as well as assistive technology, augmentative and alternative communication systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants must possess at minimum a two-year college diploma with a specialty in health, community services or social services and the post-secondary graduate certificate Communicative Disorders Assistant.Successful applicants will possess effective communication, time management and problem-solving skills, strong computer skills, demonstrated ability to protect sensitive information and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Flexibility with hours of work may be required.VEHICLE:A valid driving license and access to a motor vehicle for travelling to various schools within the Board’s jurisdiction is a requirement of this position.POSITION: TEMPORARY Communicative Disorders AssistantLOCATION:North Hastings Area (multiple schools) HOURS:35 hours per week SALARY: $21.32 – 25.08Persons interested in this position should apply via email to: Board thanks all applicants for their interest, although only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
