The successful candidate will be expected to meet clients at the offices from time to time in the Ottawa/Perth regions.

Reporting to the Manager, Fulfilment and Funding the Funding Specialist reviews legal documentation to ensure accuracy within the established guidelines, allowing mortgage loans to be funded on scheduled closing dates.

The ideal candidate for this role is enthusiastic and has a remarkable attention to detail and is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Responsibilities: Maintains positive relationships with solicitorsPrepares and sends applicable solicitor instruction packagesLiaises with solicitors to collect all required closing documentationReviews legal mortgage documentation to ensure that it matches committed terms and is in compliance with established regulatory and company guidelines and policiesEscalates any documentation issues to the Junior Underwriter and/or Manager for review and sign offCoordinates with team members to release mortgage funds on a timely basisCreates and maintains clear and complete notes within the mortgage underwriting systemResponds to all inquiries within established turnaround timesAssist senior management with ad-hoc requests, special projects and new initiatives as required Qualifications:University/College Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experienceExperience working in a small-medium sized office environmentPrevious experience working in real estate law an assetPrevious experience within the Financial Services sector or within the Mortgage Industry an assetAbility to maintain positive relationshipsStrong aptitude for service excellenceAbility to deal with conflictAttention to detailStrong organizational and time-management skills while maintaining attention to detailPositive team playerFully competent in working with basic PC software and working knowledge of the suite of Microsoft office productsAbility to manage pressure in an environment of high-volume processing with tight turnaround timesProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentExcellent English communication skills (verbal and written)Excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to build rapport and communicate appropriately with clients and peersCompensation Overview:$45,000-$50,000 base salary commensurate with experiencePerformance BonusEquity Share OwnershipProfit-SharingEmployer-paid benefit premiums3 weeks’ paid vacation plus 3 days between Christmas & New Years Magenta welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.While we thank all candidates who apply, only those who best match the above criteria will be contacted.
