Job description: Division DescriptionLocated in Milton, Ontario, Modatek Systems is a divsion of Magna International.

At Modatek, our dedicated team produce chassis systems utilizing innovative hydroforming, automated welding, and electrostatic coating processes within a large, safety-focused facility.

Role Summary The E-coat Team Member is responsible for analyzing, evaluating and adjusting e-coat system in accordance with the E-coat Process Operating Manual.

Monitor and maintain operational equipment including wastewater system.

The E-coat Team Member is also responsible for test painted panels/samples in accordance with customers’ performance standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities ECoat-General Conduct daily line start up and shut down procedures (enter and monitor recipe, check tank levels/rinse flows, clear faults, etc.)Monitor operational equipment (tanks, cranes, conveyors, change filters, pumps production rate impacts)Complete scheduled or routine tasks (PM, clean filter press, change filters, etc.), and tasks requested by E-coat Chemical Technician, Engineer or designatePaint tank (Paint level, e-coat anodes, filters, temperature, etc.)Complete documentation as required by the department to meet audit specifications Operate the Lift Truck as requiredManage Chemical Inventory (receive, log, update system as required)ECoat Lab Conduct line and paint tank analyses,Collect samples and conduct testing on painted products as required (solvent cure, film thickness, adhesion etc.)ECoat – Waste Water Perform Daily checks (pH, phosphate, tank levels, polymer, coagulant and flow)Record & resolve issues identified and report in accordance with E-coat Standardized Escalation PlanOperate waste water treatment system to meet provincial and federal discharge guideline Key Qualifications/Requirements Post-secondary Diploma in chemical or mechanical technology or Minimum three (3) years industrial experience required with at least one (1) year in a tier one electrocoat paint lineWaste Water experience preferredMust be able and willing to learn new processesComputer proficiency; working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and Power pointAbility to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervisionMust possess initiative and willing to learn and adapt to changes and needsMust hold or obtain a certified lift truck licenseDemonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to work overtime to meet customer needs Additional Information Our people are our greatest asset.
