Operations Scheduler

Boshart Industries Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Milverton, ON posted January 12, 2021.

The Operations Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining the primary production schedule of Boshart Industries.

The incumbent manages the day-to-day production work flow and ensures best practices in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning.

They will play a key role in the overall business growth and inventory strategies.

This position will work closely with the functional leaders shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.

Primary Responsibilities: Develop and maintain master production schedule including Injection Moulding, Ultra Sonic Welders, Packaging and Assembly activities Plan, prepare, issue and control schedules and coordinate with operations departments daily Advise management of the status of work in progress and any potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed Ensure scheduling deadlines are met Work with department managers or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes with scheduling Identify and implement process improvements using ERP system Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas Work to promote company operations efficiency and effective scheduling Issue all work orders on time and to the current production schedule Co-ordinate ordering of factory supplies Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action Increase worker efficiency and production rates Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand Review lead times and make recommendations for cycle time reductions Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high volume months Create, maintain, and audit BOM and make corrections as required Make Run quantity change recommendation Other Duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications : Diploma or degree in a related field 3-5 years’ experience as a production scheduler Production experience Extensive knowledge of MPS/MRP and forecasting Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word programs) Strong organizational skill set Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Why work for Boshart Industries: We are committed to developing excellence in all our employees We offer an enjoyable and welcoming environment We offer a competitive salary as well as excellent career growth opportunities in a growing company with a heavy emphasis on training and mentoring Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm If interested, please email resume to Human Resources We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
