SecureOps: Cyber Security Engineer


This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted February 21, 2021.

OverviewThe Senior Cyber Security Engineer is a member of the Threat and Vulnerability Management team which is responsible for running and reporting on host scans, web application scans and penetration tests using a variety of tools such as Nessus, Qualys, NMap, IBM AppScan, HP WebInspect, Burp Suite, and custom tools.SecureOps is looking for a contributor to help with regular scanning operations, vulnerability remediation advisory, automation and integration with additional external tools such as, but not limited to: ServiceNow, Active Directory, Splunk, MongoDB, SQL DB, MS Excel, CyberArk.The chosen person will work on a variety of tasks, independantly or in a team with other analysts and engineers to meet client requirements.The ideal candidate possesses a firm knowledge cyber security and a working grasp of the mechanisms behind various vulnerabilities and exploits, their detection, protection and remediation.

Familiarity with scanning tools such as Qualys, Nessus, NMap, IBM AppScan, HP WebInspect and Burp Suite are desirable and experience in using scripting (Python or other) to automate tasks is also useful.

ResponsibilitiesCreate scripts to automate the scanning and reporting functions already documentedIdentify scanning scope and scanner or agent configuration requirements from pulling discovery scans and CMDB dataImport ServiceNow data into Qualys, Kibana and/or ExcelIntegrate Qualys with Active DirectoryIntegrate Qualys with ServiceNowRegular client-facing communicationsTroubleshoot existing scripts and toolsRequirements and ExperienceCanadian Permanent Citizenship, Permanent Residency or a valid Work Visa is required (no sponsoring)Bachelor’s degree or equivalent5+ year Experience in IT or Networking, including at least 3+ years with primary focus in Cyber SecurityAbility to plan, organize and prioritize tasks to complete within established time framesAbility to work independently without direct supervision, self-motivated, meets tightdeadlinesAbility to learn and adapt to new or evolving technologiesKnowledge of security best practices in large-scale environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills is a must-haveCompensation and BenefitsThe following Compensation & Benefits are provided;
