For more information, visit www.Telesat.Com.About the RoleThe Senior Engineer, System Verification and Validation will be responsible for developing and maintaining system verification and validation plans of the Telesat LEO constellation communication system.

In addition, they will participate in the various testing activities across the Telesat Leo system with vendors and other partners and responsible for maintaining the lab.Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat LEO systemDevelop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirementsCoordinate and participate in RF and system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reportingServe as an RF expert and support other technical staff as requiredEnsure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirementsKeep the lab functional and update to date with known hardware and software configuration to execute various test scenarios as necessaryWork with partners and other vendors in various test campaignsEducation & Experience RequiredB.


in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in satellite communicationsMinimum 5 years of work experience in Satellite RF communication systems with strong exposure on modulation and coding used in modern standards like DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS2Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in RF testing in Ka bandsExperience using RF test equipment ( Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, satellite channel emulator,)Strong understanding of RF engineering Principles and Design PracticesDemonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performanceExperience with satellite link budget analyses with good understanding of effects of impairments on the link performanceExperience in test case and defect tracking tools( Jira, Jama )Experience in MEF, DVBS2x standards is a plusExperience with various traffic generators like Ixia, SpirentSpecialized Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesCreative problem-solver with thorough attention to detailHighly collaborative team player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammatesExcellent oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliersAbility to prioritize opportunities, needs and resources.An aptitude for and interest in complex technologyThe successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
