S/he is responsible for the ensuring the efficient execution of the day-to-day tasks on site with the assistance of the Field PM.

These include tasks such as assisting with supervision of a crew of 2 – 3 employees, planning daily production and working on site with the crew to keep projects on schedule in conjunction with the Field Project Manager.

S/he is constantly providing mentorship and support to Lead-Hands and Assistants with the intent on improving employee productivity and creating additional value for the company in Carpentry and Landscape Construction operational areas.The following are the duties for the position:LeadershipPlans, delegates and oversees the onsite tasks necessary to complete landscape construction / carpentry installation projects with the Field PM’sEnvisions project completion and sets out relevant, time bound goals for crews to achieve with the Field PMMentors and guides direct reportsMonitors production of the crewsEngages in conflict resolution and works with Field Project managers to resolve issuesProject ProductionDevelops and implements daily production plans for carpentry and landscape construction crewsControls production and production standards on the job siteMonitors and reports progress dailyReviews project success and provides feedback for improvement in conjunction with managementIdentifies and recommends processes and procedures for the company to improve operations and installation projectsProtects the company against wasteful, inefficient, unsafe, and fraudulent practicesHRCommunicates to Field Project Manager regarding direct/indirect reports as neededReprimands direct reports according to company policy and discipline escalation procedure with assistance of the Field PMAssists with performance evaluations for direct Lead-Hands and AssistantsEducationHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent.Post-Secondary Education an assetHorticulture Technology Diploma or Trades Certification an assetExperience3+ years’ experience in a Carpentry Landscape Construction Foreman position or5+ years in a Carpentry or Landscape Construction Lead Hand positionSkillsExpert mentorship and leadership skillsAbility to coordinate and delegate a series of tasks and assignments to achieve a goalYou are detail oriented and like multi-taskingAbility to complete projects within budget and maintain a high rate of customer satisfactionYou can resolve conflicts without external assistanceAbility to manage around tight deadlines and still get the details rightCompetent in the use of power tools (Saws, Drills, Table Saws, cut-off saws, plate tampers, jackhammers, skill saws, etc.)Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specificationsKnowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practicesAdvanced measurement and calculation skillsAbility to follow safe working proceduresAbility to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a teamWages and Benefits: $26-35 per hour Company car Benefits Dental care, Extended health care, Vision care Education reimbursement Ongoing training & development If you want to grow and be apart of an award-winning company that believes in innovation and constant learning in the Landscape Horticulture industry, send your resume in today.You can also check out our video on working at The Great Canadian Landscaping Company on our website at www.Gclc.Ca.If your values, experience, and goals align with ours, please email us your cover letter and resume and ” Come Grow with Us!”
