As with all members of The Great Canadian Landscape Company, you will strive to improve yourself, your teammates, and the company always.The following are the duties for the position:Assist the Softscape Foreman in managing safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yardAssist in the preparation of the work sitesMoving and installing materials such as soil, mulch, lawns, synthetic turf, plants, trees and aggregates or stones to make small patios or spaces, paving stones, retaining walls, drainage and landscape lightingMow lawns, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn and garden care dutiesWeed, prune, and trim trees and plantsUtilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasksApply fertilizers to gardensOperate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, aerators and power rakesMove and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies and manual liftingPerform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop and equipmentPerform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning dailyAlways wear appropriate personal protective equipmentComply with all company policies and regulationsMaintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areasEnsure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members follow government and company PPE standardsEnforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsitesAssist with or partake in Employee training when requiredCommunicate with customers in a polite and courteous mannerEducationHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalentExperience1-2 years experience in the Landscape Maintenance or Horticulture industrySkillsCompetent in the use of power tools (pruners, sod cutters, sprayer, rototillers, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, etc.)Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible mannerEffective communication skills (both verbal and written)Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlinesTime management skillsPhysically fit with strong staminaBasic measurement and calculation skillsAbility to follow safe working proceduresExcellent observation skills and a strong attention to detailGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a teamYou are detail oriented and like multi-taskingAdvanced measurement and calculation skillsAbility to follow safe working proceduresAbility to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a teamWages and Benefits: $20 – 26 per hour Education reimbursement Ongoing training & developmentIf you want to grow and be apart of an award-winning company that believes in innovation and constant learning in the Landscape Horticulture industry, send your resume in today.You can also check out our video on working at The Great Canadian Landscaping Company on our website at www.Gclc.Ca.If your values, experience, and goals align with ours, please email us your cover letter and resume and ” Come Grow with Us!”
