Sanitation Associate – PM Shift – 4:30 pm – 1:00 am – $19 + $0.50*

We are looking for a Full-time Sanitation team member to join our Gizella Pastry team in the PM shift (4:30 PM to 1:00 AM – Monday to Friday).

Gizella Pastry is a dessert manufacturing facility located at 3436 – Lougheed Highway, Vancouver/BC, VM 2A4.

Job Summary:

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for the cleaning of machinery and tools in the pastry. The selected candidates will be working in the dishwashing area and in the production line, sanitizing machines and tools including but not limited to mixing bowls, racks, cream whipper machines, slicers and cake rings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete daily walk around duties.
• Perform sanitation duties as outlined by Sanitation’s manager and in accordance with the established Preventative Sanitation program.
• Participate in monthly self-inspections and follow up. Participate in monthly safety and health inspections and follow-up.
• Coordinate sanitation duties with production and maintenance team members.
• Assist in scheduling cleaning duties for production team members on down days.
• Perform in-house pest control duties and coordinate / communicate with pest control contractor.
• Prepare bakery for AIB and VIP visits.
• Perform limited non-sanitation tasks as assigned (moving trays, shipping product, assisting on production line in emergency situations).
• Report all equipment problems on Mechanical Defect sheet and to Supervisors.
• Keep all tools in proper storage and sanitation department storage room organized.
• Adhere strictly to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) outlined for working in a food processing plant.
• Work as a team and cooperate with your fellow team members at all times.
