Job Description SummaryReporting to the Warehouse Manager, this position will be responsible for all the day to day operation within the warehouse on Shipping and Receiving /Inventory activities within the facility.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Job Key Contributions/Task):
·Plans and schedules personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to receive, order fill, or ship products in a productive, timely, safe, and cost-efficient manner.

·Conducts daily start-up meetings; organizes daily assignments/workload to Associates, and assigns duties accordingly.

Establishes or adjusts work assignments to meet daily production schedules.

·Trains Associate in the proper execution of standard operating procedures (SOP’s).

Implements and ensures they are followed, and verifies the accuracy and completeness of all records/documentation activities within the work group.

·Ensures that product is received and orders are filled and shipped to the client in a timely manner to maximize customer service.

·Act as a liaison between clients, operations and transportation.

Recruitment of warehouse associates, brokers/owner operators (when applicable)
·Provides development and training in all areas of the operation and administers performance management including progressive discipline, annual reviews and coaching where required
·Creates and supports a positive, inclusive work environment through effective communication and enforcement of all policies and procedures.

·Demonstrates and lead by example, the value of Health and Safety.

·Maintains employment related programs and procedures, including health & safety and housekeepingprograms, in order to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and Company policy.

·Monitors regular communication of Health and Safety information, which includes updated information, training, etc.

·Compiles and reviews reports from their department on incidents/accidents and implements initiatives to reduce reoccurrences.

·Participates in daily workplace inspections to highlight and address safety concerns.

This includes walks through the workplace to ensure Associates comply with safe working practices.

Investigates and reports incidents including; accidents, injuries, complaints, near misses, misconduct, infractions, and other violations of Company policies and procedures.

Decides upon the appropriate action to be taken in order to correct substandard acts or conditions.

Follows up to ensure the action was completed and effective.

·Provides input into budget as required, and adheres to budget requirements.

Participates in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting changes in operational procedures, productivity standards, staff planning and allocation, working conditions and use of equipment in order to increase efficiency of department.

·Provides the Management with updated information from their area of responsibility on an ongoing basis to ensure transparency.

Seeks the guidance of Human Resources as required.

·Continuously managing team and individual performances as a means of improving productivity and ultimately achieving determined KPI objectives.Job Key Competencies/ Skills:

Qualifications and experience:
·Completion of grade 12 education or equivalent, complemented with previous experience in a warehousing coordination or lead-hand, supervisory role is an asset.

·Completion of relevant post-secondary courses from a Business Management, Operations Management, or Inventory Control program would be considered an asset.

·Advanced knowledge/understanding of shipping/receiving operational procedures including computerized systems for order fulfillment and inventory management.

·General knowledge of Health and Safety including Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations for Industrial Establishments, Hazard Recognition, Material Handling Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Machine Guarding, and Electrical Safety.

·Project support skills including coordinating the requirements of a project plan; understanding and applying principles of project control; ability to manage projects within one or more systems.

·Supervision of staff on a daily basis; ability to lead, motivate and manage a team; strong customer serviceorientation.

·Organizational skills including planning and scheduling work, maintaining accurate records (productivity report, time and attendance, vacations, etc).

·Excellent employee management and conflict resolution skills
·Issue management skills (time management; interpersonal skills including conflict management; information gathering skills; problem solving/analytical decision making skills; team building skills tobuild collaborative working relationships)
·Communication skills including written (reports, memos, schedules, etc.); verbal (employees, managers) and facilitation (Associate training).

·Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) processing, spreadsheets, knowledge of mainframe applications.

·Must be comfortable and familiar with using Microsoft Office.

·Must address flow through issues or bottlenecks, changes in volume, and/or changes in customer demand with a sense of urgency.

·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, handle high volume workloads, and work flexible shifts including overtime as required.
·Perform other duties as assigned.Language Skills: English is the principal language for this position.This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
