Bring your vision, leadership and strategic planning skills to this important role RoadSafetyBC is the lead provincial agency for road safety and is responsible for setting strategic direction and establishing a provincial approach to road safety throughout British Columbia.

RoadSafetyBC regulates drivers and operates a number of programs to help regulate the safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles in B.C.

The Director, Business Services, Planning and Priorities is responsible for a variety of initiatives and projects intended to support the achievement of organizational goals.

Through the development of resource development strategies aligned with RoadSafetyBC’s evolving business needs, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of RoadSafetyBC’s operational effectiveness.

The Director is also responsible for providing strategic direction and oversees the development of branch policies and processes for finance, contracts, security, human resources, labour relations, communications, correspondence, and facilities (including office equipment, and emergency preparedness).

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
• Degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, or related field plus 3 years recent experience OR Diploma in a related field plus 5 years recent experience ,
• OR an equivalent combination of education and recent experience may be considered.

Recent experience (within the last 7 years) must include: Experience leading corporate service functions (e.g., finance, human resources, facilities, administration, etc.) for a medium to large size public sector organization.

Experience in government financial management and applying of accounting principles.

Experience establishing and reconciling program and project objectives, priorities, and budgets.

Experience leading and resolving complex staff and/or client issues.

Experience leading multi-disciplinary staff including developing and evaluating employee performance, coaching, team building and mentoring staff.

Experience supporting Treasury Board submissions.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
• 5 years recent experience establishing and reconciling program and project objectives, priorities, and budgets.

• 5 years recent experience leading and resolving complex staff and/or client issues.

• 3 years experience dealing with politically sensitive and provincially significant issues.

• 1 or more years experience directly leading Treasury Board submissions.
