Team & Job Overview The Compliance and Ethics Group is seeking an enthusiastic, seasoned and resourceful leader who will be responsible for the enhancements and oversight of the Compliance Risk Management Program throughout the organization.

The role will report directly to the Vice-President and Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer and will be responsible for all component of the Compliance Risk Management Program to ensure that EDC is conducting its business in adherence to applicable laws, regulations and industry standards and is able to identify, assess, control and mitigate compliance risk.

Along with providing expert advice and guidance to senior management and employees on the application and interpretation of compliance obligations to EDC, the role will be responsible for promoting a culture of integrity and ethical decision-making throughout the organization .

Lead and manage a team of compliance professionals to provide advisory services to the lines of business and management.

Implement and manage the EDC Compliance Risk Management Program applicable to EDC and its subsidiaries.

Review and develop the Compliance Risk Management Policy, guidelines and procedures, as well as participating the the review of other policies and procedures within the Compliance & Ethics function.

Perform risk assessment of the EDC compliance universe to assess the state of compliance of the organization and provide recommendations to ensure the mitigation of compliance risk Interact with examiners and auditors during internal and external audits and examinations.

Foresee and assess the impacts of new legislative provisions and policies, programs, procedures and various initiatives, evaluate and make appropriate recommendations to senior management and lines of business.

Provide expert advice and intervention on files having a significant impact on the business and operations of the organization.

Prepare report, including metrics, to Senior Management and Board of directors on the status and effectiveness of the Compliance Risk Management Program.

Participate as an expert in committees and internal or external activities, and represent the organization to various bodies and stakeholders.

Maintain positive relationships by demonstrating, initiative, curiosity, flexibility, respect, cooperation and commitment to the success of Compliance & Ethics.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of compliance-related processes, methodologies and standards.

Responsible for building a high performance environment and implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains and develops the team by fostering an inclusive work environment.

Establishes the team’s priorities and plans, ensuring consistency with the corporation’s strategic direction, monitors progress to plan, identifies gaps and implements corrective action plans.

Screening Criteria Degree in Law and/or Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 10 years’ experience in Compliance programs in a senior position Minimum 5 years of leadership experience Bilingual in both official languages (French and English) Deep understanding of compliance risk management frameworks, policies, methodology and best practices Knowledge of governing legislation and regulatory guidelines Demonstrated experience and knowledge of financial institution standards relating to compliance risk management Results-oriented, highly motivated with a great ability to influence others Great attention to detail, proactive and responsive to short deadlines Autonomy, initiative and capacity for peer and self-learning Experience and proving ability in preparing and drafting reports for management Salary Range $150,900
