BURNCO has a exciting opportunity for a Director, Corporate Solutions to be based out of our corporate headquarters in Calgary, Alberta or one of our regional offices in Irving, Texas or Henderson, Colorado.

As Director, Corporate Solutions, your responsibilities include leading all aspects of enterprise technology tools including strategy development, solution identification & implementation, ongoing operational support, risk management, and relationship management. You will report directly to the Chief Information Officer & VP Transformation and lead a team of non-unionized employees, as well as a number of independent consultants.

The Director, Corporate Solutions serves the business relationship link between business units and IT as well as supporting large-scale cloud-based SaaS implementation projects (including Oracle ERP, UKG), and digital innovation initiatives, to optimize business agility across BURNCO North America.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As our new Director, Corporate Solutions, you will have impact across the organization by being responsible for all decisions related to enterprise applications, ensuring they are aligned with the vision, roadmap, and delivery of Corporate Solutions projects. The position requires the ability to influence leaders not only within IT, but leaders in the business functions including up to the C-suite as well to make the right strategic decisions, and leveraging data to Operations employees in their day-to-day tasks as well with as customers.

Strategy & Delivery – 60%
  • Plan and direct the design, development, maintenance and support of systems implementations, upgrades, and ongoing technology operations within the assigned business area.
  • Coordinate activities with the other IT teams as needed to provide seamless service to assigned business area. Act as the key liaison across all functional areas including business units, IT, and outside vendors.
  • Work with business leadership in the efficient and cost-effective delivery of strategic systems solutions.
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and maximize the positive impact on the organization.
  • Identify, screen, and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet internal and external customer needs.
  • Define, measure, and report appropriate metrics related to operational support of assigned business areas.
  • Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans.
  • Collaborate with other business and IT teams to ensure solution compatibility with organization standards.
  • Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes.
  • Provide recommendations on desired policies and goals; implement new/reviewed programs according to established guidelines.
  • Participate in field research in pursuit of new solutions and to evaluate the applicability of and effectiveness of current solution.
Staff & Change Management – 15%
  • Build, direct and develop a best-in-class team.
  • Institutionalize awareness and understanding, championing a project delivery organization.
  • Facilitate strategic change management initiatives required to drive automation across the enterprise.
  • Drive the strategic direction of the functional area and achieve the IT strategic plan.
Collaboration, Operations & Budget – 25%
  • Oversee close coordination with all other IT groups and external partners, to ensure well integrated Corporate Solutions that adhere to all applicable standards, policies, and security protocols.
  • Establish the annual operating and capital budget for all Corporate Solutions applications, partner work, licensing, team members and other associated costs.
REALITY OF THE JOB

The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.

WHAT WE WOULD LIKE FROM YOU

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in a large, complex technology-based organization with specialty in Oracle Cloud, Service Now, UKG and/or other enterprise platforms.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including Visio and MS Project.
  • 8+ years of people leadership with a passion for unlocking the talents of team members.
  • Experience in construction materials industry considered an asset.

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Master’s Degree in related fields*
