Job Description: The Full Time On-Road Supervisor oversees the processing of outbound parcels at the company’s package center facilities.

The supervisor conducts pre-operation checks, manages sorting, loading and dispatch operations, and performs post-operation functions.

This position also supervises Part-Time Supervisors, Administrative staff, and Hourly employees.

Core responsibilities in supervising dispatch operations are to coordinate with others to ensure that dispatch plans are executed efficiently and to ensure adequate staffing and equipment levels for Coastal needs.

The Full-time Supervisor oversees planning and assignments, monitors load movement, and tracks the condition of equipment.

This position also reviews, analyzes, and tracks various dispatch and service reports and schedules.

Using this data, the Full-time Supervisor creates efficient dispatch plans, verifies service levels, addresses performance issues, and incorporates modifications – such as new customers, new locations and additional loads – into dispatch plans.

The Full-time Supervisor also oversees yard operations.

This involves coordinating drivers with load volume.

Responsibilities: Analyzes previous dispatch results to maximize service performance and streamline routes and ensures outbound packages are processed, loaded, and leave the building on time.

Reviews daily operating plan to identify and manage staffing and operational issues.

Conducts pre-sort meetings to communicate the daily plan and other relevant information.

Assists in the managing of the centre to ensure proper package care, service, and quality levels.

Makes operational changes (i.e., staffing) as needed to ensure packages are loaded efficiently.

Ensures adequate staffing levels to maximize efficiencies.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent (preferred but not required); Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; Clean Driver’s Abstract; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kg; Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week; Strong oral and written communication skills; ___________________________ UPS is the world’s largest package delivery company and a provider of supply chain management solutions.
