About IACInnovation Asset Collective (IAC) is a membership based not-for-profit organization designed to assist Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the data-driven clean technology sector to better leverage IP to grow and scale.Specifically, IAC assembles promising portfolios of patents, which are licensed to members to boost their patent portfolio and secure freedom to operate; IAC also educates, advises and helpsmembers to develop their IP strategy.

By securing freedom to operate, it allows members to spend more on R& D and less on licensing.This allows SMEs to be more competitive, acquire more customers, attract more funding, and scale quickly, which retains profits and skills in Canada.IAC was founded by three leading experts in IP, each of whom brings incredible experience and expertise in this area.

Purpose of Position: Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Director of Business Development and Partnerships will lead a successful Membership Enrollment and Engagement Strategy, ensuring IACs forward momentum and long term sustainability.

Key Interactions: IAC Members, Government Institutions, Academic Institutions, Crown Corporations and Intermediaries such as Incubators, Accelerators and Partners, and Internal stakeholders.Mission and ScopeMembership Enrollment and Engagement StrategyDefine and operationalize IACs Membership Enrollment & Engagement Strategy forData Driven Clean TechMember organizations, ensuring it is driven by our members’ IP needs.Program management of membership and business development activities with project management as needed.Manage member relationships and communications.Ownership and execution of Membership Advisory Council.Create Support an interactive IP needs discovery process with potential members & channel partners to generate data and feedback for IAC product teams.Manage member relationships and communications.Create and manage ongoing outreach engagement and communications plan, and account management with members, ensuring members are fully plugged into all relevant IAC services and value.Develop strategies to measure and track member’s success as a result of their IAC membership.Build Member growth strategy to include companies outside of Data Driven Clean Tech industry to support IACs long term sustainability goals.Engage and advise members in a meaningful way to understand and empathize with their needs, and ensure they extract the full relevant benefit from IAC.Business Development & ExecutionOwnership of membership enrollment goals, supporting IACs growth and sustainability.Negotiate and finalize Member Participation Agreements.Negotiate and finalize agreements with channel partners, research institutes and venture partners..Build support and forward momentum for IAC by developing formal and functional relationships with channel partners and effectively use these channels to generate memberships and program awareness.Work with industry groups such as innovation accelerators, incubators, and post-secondary institutions to generate paid services or memberships.Engage internal experts as needed, in order to meet the needs of our members.

Operations Oversee development of communication & marketing processes andmaterials for external stakeholdersBoost membership and service adoption by promoting IAC through member success storiesDeveloping and managing operational management strategies for the organization which may include resourcing, program design or other operational needs as required.External Influence
·Advocate for relevant policy creation or updates to support IACs ambition.LeadershipBuild a lean and highly effective team capable of delivering the Membership Enrollment & Engagement Strategy including membership enrollment, account management processes, and supporting IAC program deployment and channel member goals to ensure broad success.Contribute to the formulation and execution of IACs vision, strategy and business objectives.Work cross functionally to animate programs and deliver for our members.Special Projects
