We have an immediate need for a Product and Manufacturing Manager to work with our engineering and manufacturing team at our Casegoods Division in Kitchener, reporting to our Director of Operations.

PURPOSE:Responsible to successfully launch new products and enhance existing products, addressing competitive product and market requirements, and manage the product development process and product introduction process, meeting all required costs, testing, quality and manufacturability parameters, utilizing a gated process.Design Integrated systems for production of quality, economically competitive products by driving manufacturing process improvements, Develop and implement process to improve manufacturing efficiency using process management tools, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, 5S tools, Cost Reduction initiatives and Quality & performance improvements.

·Management of manufacturing/industrial engineering functions.
·Complete end to end planning, direction and co-ordination of all manufacturing processes.

Designing workflows and operations, reducing inefficiency, and ensuring that final products meet the established quality standards.
·Responsible for tools/equipment, methodologies and processes to improve production efficiency.
·Calculate workspace requirements and design strategies to utilize the workspace effectively.
·Responsible for workcentre rate setting, efficiency, process and equipment analysis to drive cost reduction, process improvement and problem resolution.
·Pursues and maintains regulatory standards with national and local code authorities, i.E., Underwriter Laboratories, C.S.A., and BIFMA.
·Responsible for development, management and scheduling of new product for case goods including the coordination of industrial engineering, production and planning and sourcing teams through development process including regularly scheduled product development meetings.
·Provide cost estimates for new products and specials.
·Responsible for price list development and maintenance and addition of new products and product lines to price list.
·Overall responsibility for all products manufactured.This includes structural integrity, efficient processes, machine programming, tooling – type and design, specification of hardware, other purchased parts, packing, installation instructions, jigs and fixtures, to support manufacturing activities.
·Responsible for setting departmental conventions, procedures, standards, goals and objectives.
·Co-ordinate engineering changes with inventory control, planning and production.
·Make recommendations and investigative analysis of major new equipment, processes, layout improvements, products and materials.
·Determine departmental needs and recommend software, hardware & training.
·Drivescontinuous improvement in the engineering/product portion of the business, as well as cost reductions initiatives related to case goods products and process change.
·Identify and initiate SRED opportunities.
·Performs all responsibilities/services in accordance with company QualityAssurance and Engineering ISO procedures and processes 9001:2015.REQUIREMENTS:
·Post-secondary degree in Engineering with minimum of 5 years Engineering experience.
·Project management skills with ability to work on tight timelines; PMP Courses an asset.
·Proven track record related to Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
·Formal training in Six Sigma, Layout and Lean Manufacturing as well as demonstrated experience.
·Experience implementing 5S program.
·Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
·Proficiency with AutoCad and/or Solidworks software, as well as MS Project andMicrosoft Office
·Strong attention to detail, analytical problem solving and effective decision making skills.
