Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager plans, controls and coordinates the manufacturing activities of products and equipment of ABB Québec
– measurement products, procurement, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering and order entries.

He prepares the strategic and operational plan, manages human resources, develops budgets and ensures strict monitoring of the sums allocated to the activities under its responsibility.

In addition, he develops and implements programs and projects to ensure efficiency and operational excellence within the department.

Your responsibilities The main responsibility of the Operations Manager is to reach and exceed the operational objectives of the company, while ensuring strict application of the various ABB policies, especially with respect to ethics and compliance.

Manages budgets and forecasts.

Ensures achievement of established targets, through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.

Ensure that the processes under his responsibility comply with SOX rules and make sure that the activities are consistent with health, safety and environment policies and guidelines.

As a member of the steering committee, participate in the strategic planning and business growth; develop this plan in the areas under his responsibility.

Ensure the development of his teams in an environment of commitment and mobilization of employees.

Continuously improve the operational performance by ensuring the implementation of tools and operational excellence programs.

Drives quality improvement through target setting, monitoring and benchmarking to continuously improve processes.

Executes quality management for monitoring and validating day to day control of processes.

Establish the budget forecast of operations, provide monthly revenue forecasts and ensure strict follow-up with the different management levels within the company.

Manage the production planning process to ensure the development of an efficient and optimum production schedule, while reducing the cycle time, where appropriate.

Delivers operational/project targets (e.g.

ROTD, lead time, quality, etc.) to improve net promoter score (NPS).

Ensures that manufacturing resources implement improvements that address issues identified through Customer Complaint Resolution Process (CCRP)Apply of manufacturing standards, quality standards and working procedures.

Disseminate the various performance indicators and take the appropriate actions.

Support and guide the procurement teams in sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts with the latter, and developing strategic alliances.

Lead daily and weekly meetings involving managers and employees under his authority.

Your background Excellent leadership skills with great communication abilities, orientation toward results and performance, ability to work under tight deadlines, decision-making skills.

Specific qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in applied science or administration 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in operation management, especially in the sector of high technologies Excellent knowledge of operational excellence tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, etc.) Excellent background in the continuous improvement of operations Bilingualism (spoken and written)
