Reporting to the Vice-president – Strategic Advisory and Innovation, the candidate will be responsible for leading advisory services projects with a wide range of transportation and infrastructures clients including transit agencies, federal – provincial and municipal and provincial governments, non-governmental organizations, international investment organizations and others.

WSP’s Mobility Systems Advisory Services team is organized to provide coordinated and focused support to administrators of public and private infrastructures, transportation and mobility services operators and financiers.

As part of the WSP Mobility Systems Advisory team you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the most forward thinking and innovative mobility service initiatives in the country.

The Candidate should have a specific and well-developed understanding of mobility, goods movement, or other transportation systems infrastructure requirements including customer facing experience.

The candidate should have the ability to provide expert advice to clients and partners in the areas of project development and project scoping, requirements identification, procurement strategy, risk assessment and risk management, transportation service policy and strategy, sustainable mobility technologies and propulsion systems (electrification and GHG reduction) understandng, and structured decision making.

The Candidate should possess a broad network of contacts with all manner of clients, project partners, and other transportation industry participants.

In addition to supporting the delivery of the team’s current workload, the Candidate will be expected to assume a key role in development and growth of this market sector for WSP.

The Candidate will possess superior proposal development skills and networking capability to secure new work for the team.

WeAre WSP A day in the life: Lead Mobility Advisory Strategy development in collaboration with all Sector and regional Stakeholders Support the VP Strategic Advisory and innovation and Participate in the region leadership team in overseeing Strategy, operation, growth and strategic initiative etc.

Lead Team Management and people engagement Lead the integration of input from other engineering and advisory services disciplines as part of complex multidisciplinary projects, including managing information sharing and preparing fully integrated designs and reports Lead and oversee the management of the active projects and pursuits with regard to commercial terms of the contract, including scope of services, schedule, quality, risk, resource requirements and professional fee budgets.

Bid and deliver business, economic, and strategic advisory services relating to transportation service delivery, policy development, contracting and risk management strategy, infrastructure and operational sustainability, and strategic investment planning.

What you’ll bring to WSP Post-Secondary education from an accredited institution in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering; Architecture,Transportation Planning, Finance, or other applicable post-secondary education demonstrated to be relevant to the role; Industry accreditations and designations applicable to the candidate’s expertise and background would be an asset.

Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience working in complex transit and transportation infrastructure industry in a project leadership or advisory services capacity Expert level knowledge of transit or other mobility system operational constraints and industry priorities Experience working with Canadian transit authorities and familiarity with related operational procedures and design standards would be a significant asset.

Experience with design or operation of a public works, transit, or other coordinated fleet maintenance facility is an asset.

Exceptional communication, analytical and creative problem-solving skills LI-Hybrid Health and Safety is a core paramount value of WSP.
