RESPONSIBILITIESManager, Corporate Records & Information Management is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the corporate records and information management program.

In addition, directs the day-to-day activities of the records and information management program by establishing priorities and quality control standards.

Liaises with the Legal department to ensure consistency of policies and procedures relating to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESPlans, develops, implements and maintains the corporate records and information management program by recommending corporate records policies, establishing procedures, operating standards and guidelines to ensure effective administration of the corporation’s program in compliance with statutory requirements and government policy.

Establishing, publishing, modifying and maintaining the records classification system including keyword indexing procedures and other techniques for subject classification and retrieval for all records in any format, and directing the conversion, implementation and maintenance of the corporate records classification system.Participates in corporate information systems planning and business process re-engineering.

Develops and implements guidelines for the management of electronic records including retrieval, retention, storage and destruction, and acts as Project Manager in the development of a Records and Document Management System for TransLink in conjunction with the Business Technology Services.Provides advice and guidance to all levels of management and staff in the organization on matters relating to records and information management including purpose, objectives and benefits.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:University degree which includes course work in archival studies or records management including knowledge of computerized information records systems plus Certified Records Manager courses or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Requires a minimum of 4 years previous experience in a large organization where experience in the design and implementation of a corporate records management system has been gained.TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTSJudgement is required when analysing work-flow methods and procedures to determine what procedural changes must be initiated.Frequent contacts at all management levels within the organization including senior executive and corporate committees when developing, implementing and modifying the records management system.Work follows standard practices, but initiative is required to resolve information problems within the corporation and.Provides functional advice and guidance to all levels of management in the corporation in matters relating to records and information management.Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.
